24- 31 January
In the same spirit as our Spring and Holiday Challenges, we have set up a fun Flock challenge for all Bindo Birders on board.
We have created a geofence for the journey which includes the open ocean that the ship will travel in during the voyage. We have excluded Durban harbour so that we can keep our challenge list clean of any Common Mynas and House Crows, so only birds that are logged from when the ship exits the harbour will count for the challenge.
The same will apply on the return to the harbour at the end of the trip.
The challenge will commence as the ship leaves the harbour and it will end the moment the ship crosses the geofence boundary back into the harbour.
We will run a lucky draw again, and in order to qualify for the lucky draw all you need to do is log more than 20 species during the voyage.
We, unfortunately, do not have any binoculars to give away this time, but the lucky draw winner will receive a full suite of our latest Bindo Swag - a hat, beanie and MiiR travel mug.
• The competition will run from 24 - 31 January '25
• You don't need to enter - just download and log birds in Bindo
• The spirit of the competition is to have fun while birding whilst birdwatching from the deck - no logging of multiple species in your cabin, please! (the odd edit is fine)
• The judge's decision is final and we reserve the right to vet logged data before choosing the winner
• No back-dating of sightings - all logged species need to be logged when you see them in the field
Latest Bindo Swag - a hat, beanie and MiiR travel mug.
